Fulbright-Nehru Research Scholar
For a year, I delved into the world of phulkari, a vibrant embroidery tradition passed down through generations of Punjabi women. As a Fulbright-Nehru Fellow, I documented their stitching techniques, some on the verge of disappearing. My journey wasn't limited to phulkari. I interviewed partition survivors to understand how historical events like migration shaped textile practices across India. This holistic experience equipped me with a deep understanding of textile-making traditions, from the silks of South India to the intricate block prints of Rajasthan.

I had the opportunity to speak at the South and Central Asia Fulbright Conference about my current research project on Phulkari, titled:
